You know what? We only see one side of the moon! You know why? Because the moon doesn't want us to see the back of his head. You know why? An asteroid punched him right in the back of the head and he's embarrassed because there's someone on earth he has a crush on and he doesn't want her to see the back of his head and h0w he got punched there. If his crush sees the back of his head, she probably won't like him. The moon's orbitational time is the same as it's rotational time. The other side does face us, but it is always shaded. Maybe you can see it if you shine a flash light up there, you can see it. Maybe not.

Venus: The odd ball

You know Venus rotates clockwise (if looking at the solar system from the 'north' pole of the sun) while the rest of the planets rotate counter clockwise? How about that? Some say the reason for this is because of its proximity to Earth causes Earth's gravatational forces to effect Venus' rotation. Others say maybe a big asteroid came around and smacked that joint so hard the whole planet just decided to turn the other way!

Pluto: The Last Planet?

I think not. It would be cool if Pluto was the last planet in the solar system because it has been in our basic knowledge that there's only 9 planets for years now. However, there is another planet floating out there. Planet X which means the 10th planet. This would not be considered something that isn't important enough to recognize as a planet. It has yelled out to exploring life to request recognition by perturbing the entire orbital systems of planets Uranus and Neptune! If I wanted attention and I was considered "out of the Solar System" with the rest of the gang of planets, that's what I'd do too! I'd start messing with the closest gang planet members I could; punching them in the back of the head so to speak; telling them to tell the Sun and all his little buddies about me. I want to be included and recognized as another planet or god.

Moons

This is obviously for those of you who insist on thinking the moon is a planet. Coming to a planet blog looking for info on the moon. If you really want the moon to be a planet, more power to you. Then it is a planet. But in reality it's not. A planet is something that revolves around the sun, not another planet. So the moon is not among the planets. Pluto may have been a moon to Neptune during one generation, but once it began orbit around the sun by itself, it became a planet.
